Privacy Policy

Renovimo is a calculator site with no accounts and no logins. This policy explains the little data that is involved, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do about it.

The short version

  • The calculators run in your browser. The dimensions you type are never sent to us and are not stored on our servers.
  • There are no accounts, so we hold no names, addresses or passwords.
  • We use Google Tag Manager to load measurement tags, which set cookies and collect usage data about visits.
  • Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
  • If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can reply and follow up.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Who we are

Renovimo ("we", "us") publishes free construction and renovation material calculators at this website. Renovimo is the controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at support@renovimo.com.

This policy applies to this website only. It does not cover other sites we link to, which have their own policies.

Your calculator inputs

Every calculator on this site is client-side. The room dimensions, coverage rates, waste percentages and unit choices you enter are processed by JavaScript running in your own browser, and the result is rendered on your device.

Those values are not transmitted to our servers, not written to a database and not associated with you. Closing or reloading the page discards them. This is why the calculators need no account and ask for nothing about you.

Data collected automatically

When you visit any page, some data is generated simply by the request:

  • Server and platform logs. Our hosting provider records requests, including IP address, date and time, the page requested, HTTP status, referring URL and user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site available and to investigate abuse or errors.
  • Usage measurement. Tags loaded through Google Tag Manager collect information about how the site is used — pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, referral source and interactions such as which calculator was opened. This tells us which tools are worth improving.

We use this information in aggregate. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it, and we do not combine it with any other data set about you.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Local storage works similarly. On this site they fall into two groups:

  • Strictly necessary. Cookies required for the site to be served securely and to work as you would expect. These cannot be switched off through the site.
  • Analytics and measurement. Cookies set by the tags loaded through Google Tag Manager, which distinguish one visit from another and measure how pages are used.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the calculators will continue to work. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically across all sites, Google publishes a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal; there is currently no industry standard for how sites must respond to it, and we do not alter our behaviour based on that signal alone.

When you email us

There is no contact form on this site — you contact us by email. When you do, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to attach. We use it only to answer you and, where relevant, to fix the problem you reported. Correspondence is retained while it is useful for support history and then deleted.

Please do not send sensitive personal information by email. To report a calculator problem we only need the inputs you used and the result you expected.

Third parties we rely on

Running the site involves a small number of providers, each of which may process the data described above:

  • Google Tag Manager and the measurement tags it loads (Google) — usage analytics, as described above.
  • Google Fonts (Google) — the typefaces used on this site are requested from Google's font servers, which means your IP address and browser details reach Google when a page loads.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure provider — serves the site and maintains the server logs described above.

These providers act on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own published privacy policies. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we rely on the following bases:

  • Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure and available, preventing abuse, and understanding in aggregate how the calculators are used so we can improve them.
  • Consent — where consent is required for analytics or similar cookies in your jurisdiction. You can withdraw it at any time by clearing and blocking cookies in your browser.
  • Legitimate interests — responding to an enquiry you have sent us.

How long data is kept

  • Calculator inputs: not retained at all — they never leave your browser.
  • Server logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then rotated or deleted by our provider.
  • Analytics data: kept according to the retention settings of the measurement platform, in aggregated or pseudonymised form.
  • Email correspondence: kept while it remains relevant to support, then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have data erased, or ask us to restrict how it is used;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on it;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are in California, you may also request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it — note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there — and you will not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@renovimo.com. Because we hold so little identifying data, we may need extra information from you to locate anything at all; if we cannot identify you in our records, we will tell you so.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where data protected by the UK or EU GDPR is transferred, our providers rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Children's privacy

This site is aimed at people planning building and renovation work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law requires. The revision date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the site after an update means the revised policy applies to you.
